The objects, aims and purpose of the council is:<ul><li>To foster within Australia that heritage brought by Scottish immigrants.</li><li>To remind Scottish Australians of their ancestral Heritage and to lift the perception of this Scottish Heritage in Australia.</li><li>To promote and organise events which aid in the preservation in Australia of Scottish music, literature, culture, language and history.</li><li>To help with Scottish Genealogical Family research.</li></ul>In promoting and supporting the heritage of Scottish-Australians, every year, the Council organises a number of high profile events designed to celebrate Scottish culture within Australia.
